To begin generating ideas for how to recreate the space, we selected an object to study its form and explored how its qualities could be incorporated into a spatial design.

I saw the squirrel air plant as a series of connected pieces. After sketching each individual piece, I chose to focus on how the object is made up of many curves.

This was my assigned space located on the Thomas Jefferson University - East Falls campus.

Based on the curves of my found object and the cutouts I created in Rhino, I incorporated both into my redesign of the space. The design provides a clear, guided path through the area, along with places to sit, relax, and enjoy views of nature through the windows. It also includes a stage-like wall opposite the windows for a speaker or performer.

Plan

I isolated the stomach portion of the object in Rhino and experimented with different ways to manipulate it.
